The transition between degree programs was a tough process, and I ultimately took a year of part time study to get up to speed. I suddenly had a year where I only needed to take a couple of courses, which left me with a lot of spare time on my hands. I decided to take my first yoga teacher training. I qualified in 2014 and have been teaching yoga ever since. I completed a science communication internship in the summer of 2016 that started the track which led me to freelancing as a science communicator from 2018. I moved to Amsterdam in 2017 for a job as a PhD candidate at the Universiteit van Amsterdam.
Spring to Mind originally started out as Spring Yoga. I set the business up to allow me to work as a yoga teacher in Amsterdam. I then began work as a science communication freelancer, and I added the trade name SciResolution. I then decided to unite all these roles under one name, and Spring to Mind was born.I run Spring to Mind alongside my PhD. I feel very privileged that I get to indulge all my passions ― science, communication, teaching, art and yoga ― in a professional capacity.
